How you can Work from Home and Homeschool Without Losing your Mind
Behind the Scenes of Real-Life Routine (With Time Stamps!)
Let’s be honest—juggling work and homeschool sounds like a recipe for chaos. And some days, it is. But over time, I’ve discovered rhythms (not rigid schedules) that help me stay sane, present, and even productive. Spoiler alert: it’s not about doing everything, it’s about doing the right things in the right season.
Here’s a behind-the-scenes peek at what my typical weekday looks like—with timestamps, real talk, and what actually gets done.
What I plan: Wake up, read my Bible, journal, and drink my favorite coffee that gives me clarity and clean energy.
Reality: I’m usually groggy, but this short pocket of peace helps me lead my day with purpose instead of pressure.
We do light chores together (yes, the kids help!), make breakfast, and go over our plan for the day.
I try to keep this screen-free and rooted in connection—it sets the tone for everything else.
This is our focused learning window.
Depending on the day, we rotate Bible study, read-alouds, hands-on math, or nature study.
I use loop scheduling and learning-style-aligned resources (which I share inside my
Mamma Hub to keep us consistent without burnout.
📝 Pro Tip: If you have a business call or deadline, you can bump homeschool to later or use independent tools like audiobooks or online lessons. Flexibility is freedom.
I carve out time to answer messages, create content, check in with my team, or mentor moms in my community.
The kids play, finish independent work, or have quiet time with screens (educational-ish 😅).
We eat together and try to get outside—even if it’s just the front step or a walk around the block.
I try not to multitask through lunch. The reconnection time matters.
This is when I batch record content, prep emails, host Zoom calls, or work on behind-the-scenes projects.
Other days, I might be in full mom mode—errands, appointments, or helping with hobbies.
Quick tidy-up, start dinner, and brain-dump whatever didn’t get done.
I might check in on messages or tie up business loose ends while dinner cooks.
We eat as a family and chat about the day’s wins and weird moments.
After dinner, we clean up, then either read, watch something together, or prep for tomorrow.
The kids head to bed, and I use this time for quiet—sometimes journaling, sometimes Netflix.
If I’m inspired, I’ll plan content or read something that grows my vision.
If I’m not? I rest. Because grace > grind.
God first. When I start with Him, everything else falls into place (or at least feels less heavy).
Rhythms, not rigid schedules. Our life has a flow, not a military timeline.
Systems + automation. From homeschool to business, I automate what I can and keep tools simple.
Support network. Whether it's my homeschool crew, biz team, or fellow mom friends—we weren’t meant to do this alone.
Reminders that this is a season. I won’t always be doing it all—but I’ll always be thankful I showed up for it.
